I’m starting a new series of articles dedicated to movies I have watched in the last few years prior to starting this blog. Since I might never watch some of those movies again and I’d rather do a full review from movies that are fresh in my mind, I think it makes sense to share some thoughts about those movies.
Some of them are horror classics, others might be indie gems while many are not worth your time. In any case i will introduce the movie and give a quick review and rating. You can find part 1 here.
The Bay (2012)
“Chaos breaks out in a small Maryland town after an ecological disaster occurs”. One of the best found footage movie of 2012, The Bay makes one of the smartest use of its format seen recently. Some very efficient jump scares!

The Collection (2012)
“A man who escapes from the vicious grips of the serial killer known as “The Collector” is blackmailed to rescue an innocent girl from the killer’s booby-trapped warehouse.’”
The follow-up to The Collector, The Collection, ups the gore and the traps but does not recreate the tension of the first movie. Classic sequel where more is not always better, The Collection stays a worthy addition to the Saw-like movie genre.

Grave Encounters 2 (2012)
“A film student who is obsessed with the movie Grave Encounters sets out with his friends to visit the psychiatric hospital depicted in the original film.”
Grave Encounters 2 is an almost exact copy of the first Grave Encounters but the magic does not strike twice. Still, Grave Encounters 2 is an honest entry in the found footage genre, with some genuine scares.
