Evil Things Review

June 11, 2013 by Eric S. Leave a Comment

Evil-Things-reviewSynopsis: (from IMDb)  On January 9, 2009, five college students left New York City for a weekend in the country. 48 hours later, all five students have simply vanished without a trace. There were no leads and no evidence – until now.

(From Me): 5 dull friends tape their weekend in the country. They are being stalked by someone. The stalker films them as well. They talk a lot. It’s boring. Finally the stalker gets into the house and maybe he killed them. Not sure, we do not see anything. The end. More of the same footage than before. The real end.

My Quick Review: Thank God for the iPad. Without it to pass the time while watching this crap, I truly believe I would have lost 80mn of my life for nothing.

Evil Things is the worst Found Footage movie I’ve seen so far. Absolutely nothing happens in this joke of a Slasher Movie. At no point was I scared, shocked or surprised. At least in Stripped (another movie where almost nothing happens) I found the characters to be somewhat interesting. In Evil Things they are just plain dull and definitively not a bunch of people I’d like to spend time with. The problem is we DO spend the whole movie with them complaining and having uninteresting conversations.

I’m a big defender of Indie Movies and of found footage movies. But, in my opinion, there is no excuse for having such a poor effort released as a movie, especially when you have a good location and quite alright actors as it was the case in Evil Things.

Avoid at all cost!

My Rating: 2/10

Year: 2009
