Support Truth or Dare on Indiegogo

I’m always on the lookout for exciting Indie Horror Projects to support. Today I’ve stumbled upon Truth or Dare, written and directed by Jessica Cameron (Silent Night, Mr Hush) who is also starring in the movie.

The pitch ( Six college kids find internet stardom when they make “Truth or Dare” videos with a violent twist. It’s all fun and games until their #1 fan decides to play…) coupled with the teaser below got my attention and I’m now looking forward to the end product.

They already have the initial budget for the film but they need an extra $17,000 to pay for such things as: editing, sound design, music/score, color correction, deliverables, and festival submission fees.

Support Silhouette on Ulule

Silhouette is a French Short movie inspired by recent Spanish Horror Movies such as Pan’s labyrinth and El Orfanato as well as early Syhamalan movies (Unbreakable, The 6th Sense). The filmmakers also want to pay homage to such directors as Polanski, Cronenberg and Argento.

The story follows a young couple, Damien and Laura who are living a comfortable life in their country home. During a photo shoot (Laura is a professional photojournalist), laura takes a picture of a Shadowy Man (Silhouette). She will soon become obsessed with him while her own body is deteriorating. Looking for an explanation, she will uncover a surprising truth.

This pitch and the teaser below got me hooked immediately. On top of that, it is a french genre movie and we do not see enough of those.

So if you wanna help Writer/Director Bertrand Cazor bring those ambitions to terms, help him fund the project through the crowdfunding platform Ulule.

Support Harbinger Down on Kickstarter

If you’re a fan of practical FX as I am, you will probably love Harbinger Down, a sci-fi/horror film by Creature FX Designer Alec Gillis. As the filmmakers promise, the movie will be a celebration of Animatronics and Makeup FX .

But they need our support to help them achieve their vision: The money will pay for equipment rental, cast and crew, the creatures, costumes, sets, sound editing and post production, etc.

And if this wasn’t enough to convince you, movie legend Lance Henriksen is attached to the project as you can watch in the video below.

So let’s spread the word (there is only 3 days left) and help them keep FX real by heading out to their kickstarter page and show some support (they have awesome stuff for the backers)!

The Night Visitor Crowd Funding: Success!!

Since I heard about The Night Visitor’s Kickstarter project I have been trying to support the film and thanks to almost 160 backers, the film has reached its goal. Actually they managed to raise over 17k $ so far. So kudos to all the fans out there, the filmmakers and producer Mark Gantt for all of their efforts to make sure the project would be a success.

The movie is directed by Jennifer Blanc-Biehn and tells us the story of a suburban family who receives visits from an unseen entity, The Night Visitor.

The Night Visitor is “A sci-fi/horror film about a couple trying to save their marriage and protect their son from a terrifying unseen supernatural entity” shot using the popular found-footage style.

I’m a big fan of the genre with movies such as Paranormal Activity, Rec, Grave Encounters and of course The Blair Witch Project. Unfortunately, It is also a genre that has been overdone in recent years.

But producers Mark Gantt, Brianne Davis and Jennifer Blanc-Biehn (who also directs the movie) are promising to bring something different and unique to the genre.

I, for one am totally looking forward to seeing the end product but to do so, Mark, Brian and Jennifer need our help to be able to finish post-production on the movie and do some marketing. This is why they started a Kickstarter project.
